Lovewell Farms FAQs

New to Hemp and CBD?

What makes Lovewell Farms unique/different from other brands?

Lovewell Farms is a small, family-owned, sustainable farm and our hemp products are handcrafted with care. Our team is dedicated to the best farming practices and providing the highest quality products for our customers. Each and every step of our production process, from planting our seeds to bottling our extract, is designed to increase and preserve the beneficial compounds in our hemp and avoid unwanted contaminants. We take great pride in the accuracy and purity of our CBD products and provide test results for cannabinoids, heavy metals, and pesticides for every product, so you know exactly what is in the CBD you purchase. Our mission is to provide high-quality products you can trust at a level that sets industry standards.

As it currently stands, the CBD market lacks credibility, transparency, and accountability. We are completely committed to providing our customers with effective CBD products that they can trust. We recognize that CBD users want quality and consistency, and it is our mission to set the industry standards by doing so in the most responsible manner.

What type of farm is Lovewell Farms?

At Lovewell Farms we sustainably manage a biodiverse ecosystem that consists of hemp, honey bees, vegetables, fruit trees and shrubs, and flowers, all coexisting with the native flora and fauna. Our methods of cultivation revolve around maintaining the soil health and ecology on and around our farm.

We support our hemp crop and the environment using only inputs that feed the microbiology of the soil and improve the ecology of the farm. We never use harsh chemicals that could potentially harm humans and be detrimental to the environment or insect and plant populations. The result of our methods is a vibrant and thriving farm with healthy hemp plants that are able to manage pests and disease more easily on their own, requiring less inputs on our end.

What are CBD and hemp?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of hundreds of compounds found in cannabis plants. Marijuana and hemp are two variations of cannabis plants, and the only difference between the two is the THC content. Hemp contains less than 0.3% THC. Our CBD comes from the hemp plant.

CBD is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid that has the ability to act on receptors that are part of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). Human beings, along with other organisms, have an endocannabinoid system which assists in regulating a variety of metabolic processes. Sometimes, our endocannabinoid system can become out of balance, especially when our bodies are faced with stressors that limit our ability to produce endocannabinoids. CBD supplementation may help to fill that gap, and promote a more balanced endocannabinoid system.

What is CBD used for?

There are a number of conditions that CBD may help with. We rely on both scientific research and anecdotal evidence to determine what our products are best used for. Unfortunately, because of the complicated legal history of hemp and marijuana, cannabinoids and other plant compounds found in cannabis are severely understudied, and much of our evidence comes from user experience.

Due to this lag in cannabinoid research and lack of progress by the FDA, our company and other CBD suppliers are not allowed to make any claims about CBD and its many uses. Because the FDA has not approved CBD in its form as a therapeutic drug, we unfortunately cannot state any of its potential benefits.

If you would like to learn more about what CBD can be used for, we recommend you search the internet for “benefits and uses of CBD”. You can find thousands of articles, stories, and reviews that can help you learn how CBD might help you.

What CBD products should I use?

The form of CBD you take should be appropriate for the effect you are seeking. It is our goal to provide a range of products to fit all of our customers’ lifestyles, and to help make CBD accessible to everyone

Products and Delivery Methods

CBD Flower

CBD flower can be smoked, vaporized, or infused into cooking oils. Inhalation of CBD flower through smoking or vaporizing can be one of the fastest and most cost-effective methods of delivery.

Many use this method for immediate relief, as onset is seconds to minutes and can last for 2-3 hours. Dosing can be a little more challenging - take 1 puff, wait a few minutes and assess how you feel before you take another puff.

Our recommendation for ingesting CBD flower is with an herbal vaporizer, a device that heats up the material just to the point where it evaporates the active ingredients, but does not cause combustion.

CBD Oil Tincture

For best absorption, take CBD oil tinctures sublingually. Shake bottle before use. Place oil under your tongue and hold for at least 30-60 seconds. Onset is 15 minutes to an hour and lasts 4-6 hours.

Sublingual application allows CBD to be absorbed directly into the blood vessels in the mouth, rather than passing through the digestive system.

When seeking relief using CBD tincture, it is important to be consistent with daily use for several weeks before adjusting dosages or switching products.

Edibles

You can also add CBD oil tincture to your favorite beverage, and this would be considered an edible delivery method.

It is a slower onset of 1-2 hours but can last for up to 8 hours.

If you take CBD after eating foods high in fat, you may have a higher absorption rate of CBD.

Topicals

Topical application of CBD is typically used to target specific areas on one’s body, because the CBD is applied in high concentrations over a smaller area, rather than being distributed via the circulatory system.

In topical applications, cannabinoids are not absorbed into the bloodstream, and time of onset is 10-20 minutes, with a duration of 2-3 hours.

Should I buy a product with or without THC?

We provide both THC-Free and Broad Spectrum CBD Products, which are made with different forms of CBD extract. THC-Free products are made with CBD isolate, which contains only CBD and no other compounds, whereas broad-spectrum products are made with our very own broad-spectrum CBD distillate, extracted from the hemp we grow on the farm. We always recommend broad spectrum CBD products, because current research suggests that the combination of numerous plant compounds is more beneficial than cannabinoids in isolation.

This is referred to as “the entourage effect”. Including even minute amounts of THC, far below psychoactive levels, in CBD products can help to maximize the efficacy of the CBD. We do offer THC-Free CBD Oil Tinctures for those of our customers who would prefer to have absolutely no THC present in their CBD products. If you want more information on combining THC with CBD, please reach out to our partner, Shari at Canna Healing Consulting for more information about medical marijuana.

What dose should I take?

There are very few human studies on CBD and as a result, dosages are not standardized so there is no "one size fits all" in dosing. Some people have found relief with small amounts of CBD and others require very large amounts. Common doses typically range from 10-50mg CBD, depending on the experience of the user and the severity of symtoms. The dosage required also depends on the quality of the product and the reason for its use. It takes a methodical approach to determine what works for you. Often it can take weeks of regular dosing and readjusting the dose to get a positive effect.

We recommend to start low and go slow. Start with a small dose of 5 mg once a day and see how you feel. Consistency is critical. It can take up to six weeks for your body to adjust and uptake CBD at its maximum efficiency. If you do not feel relief you can titrate up by 5 mg, each time over a few days, until you find relief.

Lovewell Farms provides support for you to find your best dosing plan and to suggest products.

How does Lovewell Farms quality test their products?

Testing is a very important part of our process. We partner with state-licensed testing facilities to ensure that our scientific approach to handcrafted production is reflected in the quality of our products. We provide certificates of analysis (COAs) for all of our products on our website and at the point of sale, and our raw hemp flower is tested for cannabinoid content, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbial populations. We share all of our COAs with the public because we are proud to show others the results of our high quality, accurately dosed, and consistently clean CBD products.

We guarantee that our product is clean and tested within 7% of the advertised amount of CBD.

What extraction process does Lovewell Farms use?

When using botanical extracts for wellness, it is important to incorporate a broad spectrum of compounds which act synergistically for the best results. Lovewell Farms distillate is created through pure ethanol extraction, which is highly effective at removing a larger quantity and wider range of beneficial plant compounds than other methods.

What are Lovewell’s ingredients?

Our handcrafted CBD products contain only naturally derived botanical ingredients, such as essential oils and plant extracts, to complement our broad spectrum CBD distillate. Our CBD+ line incorporates a myriad of botanical extracts traditionally used in herbal remedies, to provide an even more effective product. Check out our CBD+ products to experience the power of plants in unison.

We use coconut oil and fractionated coconut (MCT) oil as carrier oils in most of our products, due to the high concentration of saturated fats found in coconut oil, as compared to other carrier oils. Cannabinoids like CBD are lipid-soluble compounds, so the more saturated fats in an oil, the more sites there are for the cannabinoids to bind to, and the more CBD will be delivered with each dose.

Where can I find Lovewell Farms CBD?

Order online to have Lovewell Farms Hemp & CBD delivered to your door. Deliveries are shipped USPS Retail and typically arrive within 3-5 business days. You can also find our products in local retailers all over Rhode Island and New England.

How long do CBD products last?

Depending on the product and frequency of use, your Lovewell Farms CBD should provide daily relief for 4-8 weeks, or longer. We recommend storing your CBD products in a cool, dry location, out of direct sunlight. Most of our products are packaged in amber glass or opaque packaging, which helps to protect them from light degradation. If stored properly, CBD products should maintain their efficacy for 1-2 years after purchasing.

How are Lovewell Farms products made?

All of our products are made in a certified kitchen by one of our employees. Our company recognizes that CBD is incredibly important to the wellbeing of many people, and our customers deserve to know exactly what they are getting when they buy Lovewell Farms CBD.
We carefully formulate each batch to guarantee that every item is within 10% of the advertised milligrams of CBD.
